Are you tired of staring at a dull and empty spot in your yard? Do you hate it when you constantly need to sweep your home to keep all the dirt out? Then it is definitely time for you to start investing in a beautiful new lawn.
A gorgeous lawn can do wonders for your curb appeal and also greatly enhances home functionality. A lawn keeps your home nice and cool during summer, and cleans the air around your home by absorbing pollution. Lawns also reduce the amount of dust that wind can sweep inside. And with a beautiful lawn, you will always have somewhere to spend some time outdoors with family and friends.
Whether you are just getting started on your new lawn or you are wanting to repair or renovate what you have, we at Betta Turf can help and guide you in the right direction.
How long will it take to establish?
There is no right or wrong time of the year to lay your new turf. Depending on the season that you plant your lawn, and how you look after it in the initial stages, will determine how fast your lawn is going to establish a root structure. Roll on can be laid all year round, where as runners or stolons are best left until the warmer months.
Generally, the warmer months, September through to March, will allow the turf to take root quicker, as the warm season varieties are growing at their peak. March through to August, lawns generally tend to slow down, so developing a root structure will take a little longer.
Maintaining a healthy Lawn. How hard can it be?
Not hard at all. Once established, your lawn should provide you with joy, not a headache. Regular maintenance is required, but a healthy lawn, won’t take a lot of time to keep it looking good, especially when you are using the right products. Our products at Betta Turf, are the best of the best. Perfect for any variety and our sandy soils, they will keep your lawn thriving all year round.
Mowing weekly through the warmer months, will not only keep your lawn healthy and strong, but it will take less time to mow rather than leaving it for 2 weeks between mows. The key is to never take more than ⅓ of the leaf of when mowing, unless you are renovating the area.
Fertilising with our Premium Blend Slow Release, will keep your lawn green, healthy and strong all year round. Using Aqua Force and Biagra during our summer months, will keep the turf from stressing out on our hot summer days, due to our water restrictions. Ironman foliar feed, will ensure a deep green all year round, and help with any alkalinity issues with your soil, but most importantly will make your lawn the best in the street. The combination of all these 3 products will make having a lawn the best landscaping investment at your place.
Weeds, Pest and Diseases. Will my lawn get them?
Unfortunately, even the healthiest of lawns may encounter some issues, but having a healthy lawn, allows them to combat any problems with ease. Weeds can blow in from anywhere, from bird droppings or even transferred from your local lawn mower man, but a strong, well established turf can hold off germination and keep weed numbers to a minimum. Control of these weeds when they are present, can be done either by hand or if needed, by herbicides. As well as weeds, pests and diseases can come into your area throughout the year. Again, having a healthy lawn, will ensure a quick recovery. If you are not sure what you have, or what’s going on with your lawn, we always recommend talking to our team at Betta Turf for the best solution.
